TIME TO CELEBRATE!

The blanket is finally finished and on the board. Although technically I still have weave the ends in--small details. This has been on the needles since September and while there are tons of mistakes it is finished and beautiful--thank you Debbie Bliss.

I have almost finished the sweater, booties and bonnet set and with any luck they will join the blanket on the board tonight. Just have to finish the last couple of rows on the bonnet and crochet some ties for all. Stay tuned.

Now I need to focus in on the Color on Color scarf and get it finished. The knit-along meets tonight and I have not touched the scarf since the last one two weeks ago. I wish I had it done now as winter is back with a vengeance. My very whimpy California beach girl blood can't take the cold.

NEED SOME MORE BLUES, I GUESS

I thought that I had finished spinning this lovely blue that I plan on using for a shrug for one of the daughters and could move on to the Alpaca that I got in Solvang, but no such luck. Just found another 1/2 pound that needs to be done. I'm sure that I will need it for the project so just have to bite the bullet and get busy.

My Yarn of the Month Club keeps on coming and bringing fun goodies. Right now I am content with enjoying gazing upon the little bags of yarn as I am too busy spinning to think about buying any more yarn. It would just hang out in the studio with the other commerical yarn that has yet to inspire me.

My frustration levels are so very high at the moment. I know that I just have to get over it but it is so hard as the assaults are coming from all fronts. I know that I just have to give up the idea that I will make the conference in Boston. My daughter needs me to help her now and having been in her position I know how scarey it is. It's just that between both girls there has been no time for me and I haven't been out of town in a year which is very hard for these travel itchy feet.

FUZZY WUZZY

A fuzzy picture of fuzzy yarn. This is the result of my class Saturday with John. Mohair locks were fluffed or combed (Just had to buy that pair of combs I have been debating whether or not I needed!) and then plyed holding them at a 90 degree angle with some regular sewing thread. Then that strand was plyed again with thread. It like most spinning things was a coordination challenge, but with a bit of practice it did get better.

Still nursing the pregnant daughter. The contractions seem to be quite strong and it worries me that they haven't done much about them or even told her to stay off of her feet. I'm going to miss the monthly management meeting tomorrow at work and go to the doctor with her and hope he/she will have something concrete to say about this.

WHAT A CURE FOR THE KLEENEX BLUES

This little cutie came hopping out of the most wonderful package of goodies from my very excellent SP. She pressed all of my fiber buttons--

--textured yarn to knit a fantastic pattern for a entrelac scarf in my signature colors, purple, pink and burgundy.

--coordinating needles with which to knit the above.

--hand dyed merino roving that I would have started on right away as it is so gorgeous but I have to finish my homework for my class tomorrow.

--a yarn cutter on a leash which is perfect for me who is always misplacing everything.

--chocolate milk and cookies to help keep my strenght up!

--a very handy magnetic memo pad to keep me organized.

What a very thoughtful and incredible package that was really a bit of sunshine in a week that I am thrilled to see end. Between the cold/flu and the pregnant daughter giving us a scare (everything is fine and as soon as I finish this am on my way over to see for myself) this hasn't been the best of the year. Things are looking up--thank you SP you are the best.
